How to play
Give the table a clear rhythm.
Use this as a quick first-game guide, then keep the official rules close for edge cases and exact details.
Start with a secret word
Each player takes a sketchbook, writes the selected word on the first page and keeps it hidden.
Draw the word
Turn to the drawing page and sketch the prompt without using letters, numbers or spoken hints.
Pass and guess
Pass every book in the same direction. The next player sees only the drawing and writes what they think it represents.
Alternate each page
Pass again. Players continue switching between drawing the latest guess and guessing the latest drawing.
Reveal the chain
When the books return to their owners, open each one page by page and enjoy how the original word changed.
Before the first turn
Set up for a smooth start.
- Give every player a sketchbook and dry-erase marker.
- Choose a prompt card or prepare workplace-safe words.
- Confirm the passing direction.
- Decide whether the session is purely social or lightly scored.
Make it a season
Reward the moments people retell.
Track playful awards rather than drawing skill. A season can recognise clear communicators, fearless artists and the reveal that made the whole room laugh.
