Love Letter
One card in hand. One sharp decision.

How to play
Give the table a clear rhythm.
Use this as a quick first-game guide, then keep the official rules close for edge cases and exact details.
Prepare the round
Shuffle the character deck, remove one card face down and deal one card to each player. Keep the remaining deck in the centre.
Draw one card
On your turn, draw the top card so you have two characters in hand.
Play one character
Choose one of your two cards, place it face up and resolve its effect completely. Played cards remain visible to the table.
Protect, deduce or eliminate
Use character effects to inspect hands, compare values, block targeting or name a rival’s card. Eliminated players wait for the next round.
Award favor and begin again
The last player active wins the round. If the deck runs out, the active player holding the highest-value character wins. Award a favor token and start a new round.
Before the first turn
Set up for a smooth start.
- Use the character mix and target number of favor tokens shown for your player count.
- Give each player a reference card and keep discarded characters face up.
- Remove the required face-down card before dealing the opening hands.
- Explain that every card must be played legally whenever possible.
Make it a season
Turn quick rounds into a lively season.
Track each round win as one result or record the complete match winner after the required favor tokens. Rotate the first player and let repeated sessions reward careful memory.
